I think my key finder is broken...

The Keys to Your Heart
You are attracted to obedience and warmth.
In love, you feel the most alive when things are straight-forward, and you're told that you're loved.
You'd like to your lover to think you are stylish and alluring.
You would be forced to break up with someone who was insecure and in constant need of reassurance.
Your ideal relationship is traditional. Without saying anything, both of you communicate with your hearts.
Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.
You think of marriage as something precious. You'll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.
In this moment, you think of love as something you thirst for. You'll do anything for love, but you won't fall for it easily.

Too bad I can't find my keys!

A little help here...

There's this movie with Ben Stiller in it and he plays a rabbi. I think it was a romantic comedy where his best friend is a priest and they're in love with the same woman who was a childhood friend who had moved away when they were seven.

Anybody remember it? Anyone know what I'm talkin' about? Anyone? (Buler...Buler)

Seriously, what's the name of this movie!?!

I'm not sure why it popped into my head, but it's been bugging me all day!

Flats suck

Monday blew--

Among other things, I got a flat. Changing a tire with the crappy factory issue jack sucked. Changing it on Cicero Ave, wasn't a picnic either.

The story continues on Tuesday, when I get my tire replaced...

The guy working at the tire store says to me (I shit you not) "Did you know that your car's a stick?"

Seriously?!?! Did I know my car was a stick? Crap, I was wondering what that third peddal was for! I can't believe that this guy was actually employed to fix my tire. I'm just glad that that it's done and fixed.

Let there be light!

I've been on a recent home improvement kick...thank God for a 24 hour Home Depot! Any who, after painting a tiny dreary hallway semi-gloss ultra white, I decided that I needed a new light fixture. I found this fun one at HD--set to work!

As you can see, I played with electricity--and won! Fortunately--Jack and Nick had some helpful suggestions (thank you!) which made all the difference (yeah, there's no white wire in the celing!!). I do need to get some lower wattage bulbs--50 and 100 watts are super bright!!

I'm pretty proud of my efforts...who knows what's next!

It just doesn't work...

I was feeling adventurous in the kitchen...and we all know this can either turn out something like the wonder that is "Dave's Mom" or go really badly. I had some carmel sause in my fridge. I had been using it for making carmel apple martinis (which, by the way, came out excellent) and I decided to try the carmel sause mixed with milk. I figured, why not--I like chocolate milk (and really, who doesn't), but this so did NOT work!

No matter how much I mixed the carmel settled at the bottom like sludge. The milk had a light carmel taste to it, which was good, but as I got farther down the glass, I began to have a "pulp" experience--where clumps of carmel were passing my lips--ugh!

I'm sad this didn't work. The flavor was good, but I guess I didn't like it because I'm a texture eater. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Until then, I suggest sticking with Hershey's Syrup!

Stage Stuck

Yesterday, Meg, Ben Erin and I went to see a play at the Riverfront Playhouse in Downtown Aurora. It was in this very tiny theater that couldn’t hold more than 50 or 60 people. The theater was very casual, and quite kitschy.

Check out the hula girl with the light up boobies! Too funny!

Can you find the lamp from movie “The Christmas Story”?

Such a cute little stage!

Ben, Meg, and Erin wait for the show to begin.

The show was quite good! I’d like to go back to see their next show.

On the way out is when disaster strikes! We went out to where we parked and the car was gone!! We thought the car was stolen—what a horrible feeling! We found another man wandering around looking for his car and found that it had been towed!

We called the towing company, and they did have the car. One of Erin’s friends was able to come and pick us up to take us back to Meg and Bens. I decided that leaving my coat in the car was a bad choice. It was so cold we waited in the Paramout Theater for warmth.

While we were waiting, I discovered an old lady pair of glasses and was messing around pretending to be “Flo” and taking tickets. The paper that I picked up to be at ticket, was even funnier than my imitation of Flo—

“DO NOT PARK IN THE BANCO POPULAR PARKING LOT—YOU WILL BE TOWED” –really? No kidding!!

Erin’s friend Phil picked us up and took us to Meg and Ben’s. On the walk up to the house, I didn’t realize that I had a Best Buy bag stuck to my butt.! So embarrassing! What’s worse, is that Phil called Erin a few minutes later to say that he needed the bag back because his receipt was still in it and he needed to return something—Embarrassing, but hilarious!

Meg and Ben got their car in Bativia… at the scary tow impound. $125 dollars later, the car was sprung from car jail and the night had drawn to a close.

The show was good, I’d go back to the Riverfront Playhouse to see another, but I wouldn’t park in the Banco Popular parking lot again!

Confidential to Mr. Pink:

STOP THE CENSORSHIP!

FREE MRS. PINK!!
FREE MRS. PINK!!!
(Lots O' Worms--Welcoming Mrs. Pink since 2005)

Not just young at heart

I was wandering about on line and found this site that tells you your "real age". It's based on the principle that based on your lifestyle choices your real age is different than your chronological age.

I'm 5.5 years younger than my actual age...that makes me only 22.1.

Does that mean if I say I'm younger, I'm not actually lying about my age?

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Yesterday, I invited myself along with Donyielle to have a manicure and pedicure. And of course, me being the evil persuasuive person I am, convinced Wynter to join us!

Here's the girls in the vibrating chairs that were too jaringly vibrating...

I decided in an effort to encourage spring to come, I needed an insanley bright pink to go on the toes...

Donyielle goes along with the same shade...

For the record, Wynter decided to go with a deep red. But we all had a fun a relaxing afternoon! What a way to end the 3rd quarter. I say we go out for massages next time!

Home Depot Needs Their Own Help

I've been on a recent bout of home improvement, so I was in Home Depot on Tuesday to pic up some paint chips and to get a new light fixture for the "hallway" in my house.

I stoped to use the bathroom and found things broken!!

The toilet was majorly askew...

Even the soap dispenser didn't work. It didn't have a top!

What was I supposed to do? Dip my hands in to get the soap? Thank goodness for anti-bacterial gel in my purse!

I thought this was ridiculous. I mean, it's HOME DEPOT!!! Shouldn't they have the tools and expertise to fix these things in their own store?

What is up with this weather?!?!?!

It’s April 11th and it’s snowing!!! If I wanted to shovel snow in April, I’d live somewhere desolate like Siberia or Wisconsin. WTF???—I was definitely not consulted about this extreme weather condition. Now, mark my words, it’s going to be an insanely hot summer.

To quote Wilt from Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends: “This is defiantly NOT O.K.!”

Book Crossing

I was surfing the internet and I stumbled upon this site about "Bookcrossing". This site describes bookcrossing as "the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise."

It's such an interesting concept. First of all, I simply cannot throw books away. And this is way more fun than just donating them to a thrift store. Secondly, it makes me wonder about who finds the books. It plays in to the whole notion of fate. I leave a book somewhere...the thought that the person who picks it up was meant to find it is awesome!

I haven't yet caught a book set out in the wild, but I'm looking! I've released a few books already, maybe you'll catch one--Happy Hunting!
