It's a Milestone!

Wow!! I just checked out my hit counter and my blog has it's 1000th hit!!

Not that anybody get's a prize or confetti is going to fall...but it's nice to know people are actually reading this thing!!

Thanks, everyone, for checking in!! You're the best!

Go Cubs, Go!

I know the calendar says that spring started a few weeks ago, but I concider it spring after my first Cubs game of the year!! There's nothing better than a hot dog and an Old Style Light at Wrigley Field. (It's the only place where Old Style tastes excellent!)

Here's Chris waiting for Meg and Ben before the game.

(if you look carefully you can see the reflection of me taking the pic with my camera phone in his sun glasses!)Meg and Ben cheering for the rally in the 8th...

Not bad for a "self-portrate" with my camera phone!--(We're such goobers with matching hats!)

CUBS WIN!! CUBS WIN!!

Part Planning, Part Shamless Plug...

Alright, I admit, this blog is part shameless plug…

But, my team leader at school owns a campsite in Michigan. Chris and I were talking, and we decided it would be so much fun to plan a camping trip some weekend this summer. I’m all about cooking meat over a campfire! And, this place has real potties and heated showers! (There’s no reason to go all weekend digging a latrine—my scouting days are over.) If you’re interested in joining us let’s start by picking a weekend!! Meghan and Ben—This means you!! :)

(Here comes the plug—)
If it doesn’t work out to go as a big group, and you’re interested in camping in Michigan; check out Rose’s Retreat! http://www.rosesretreat.com/ It’s 19 acres of camping fun! They have tent sites, cabins, and even a lake (I’ve been assured there are plenty of fish). There’s plenty to do, with hiking, volleyball, coloring books (I think I’m most excited about that one!) and water craft to rent.

Wynter (isn’t Wynter Rose such a pretty name?) and her husband have been working so hard on the campground. I’ve seen the pictures and it looks so nice and cozy. I’m quite impressed at David’s wood working (he built picnic tables!! I had enough trouble assembling my loft in college!!). If you’re interested check out the site, there’s contact info and pricing. And if you want to plan a fun filled weekend…let me know!!

Stupid Batteries

Let’s face it. I’m flakey. But as Barb says, “But Bethie, you’re the good frosted kind that we all love!”

Anywho, I take preventative measures to idiot proof my flakiness. Example: I have a key finder. It really is a life saver.

But today when I was looking for my keys, I discovered that my batteries were dead in the receivers!! Picture me wandering around my house with the key finder remote pushing the button, swearing and pleading with the finder thingy to beep.

Ugh! What a nightmare! I guess I have to change those batteries with my smoke alarms… (which I still need to do—Shhh!! Don’t tell Chris!)

Happy Egg Day!

Happy Easter!!

May the chocolate you eat be magically calorie free! :)

What have I been up to?

I know, I know…it’s been a while.

Here’s what I’ve been up too:

A week and a half ago I came down with the stomach-flu. (Yes, Barb. I know there’s no such thing as “stomach flu”) I spent Monday and Tuesday lying on the bathroom floor praying for death.

Then, back to school for the close of the third quarter. Gotta get those grades in!

Then SPRING BREAK!!

I flew down to Florida for a week to see my parents and spend a few days at Disney World! This was Chris’ first time there! We had a great time!! I hope we’ll get our pictures soon!

Here's one of Chris with a Dole Whip (thank you, Sarah for bringing this wonderful thing into our lives!) If you've never had a Dole Whip, I'd highly recomend them! They're pineapple softserve floating in pineapple juice. Don't knock it, until you've tried it, it's heaven in a cup!

I have to say, I really need a new camera. The one I have I bought before digital cameras even existed! It’s starting to die on me (sniff! I took that camera on foreign term!) My next one will be digital for two reasons 1) I have to get with the times, and 2) you all need more pics on my blog!

Any suggestions for what to get/look for would be appreciated!
