For all the bloggers out there

I'm sure all of you bloggers out there can relate...

While most people are aware of my blog, (and thankfully read it), there are some who are surprised when I send them the link to my blog to tell them that they are out there in cyber-space (either their pic or a story about them). For those of you who encounter the same problem, there is now a shirt available at http://www.thinkgeek.com/oreilly/tshirts/5eb7/

Now everyone will know that any and all random actions may become at topic of discussion for a blog.

My question is this, do I have to warn people that they are the topic of a blog? Now that this shirt has spawned, is it totally passe to have a blog?

Regardless, I can now officially say--You've been warned--you may be blogged about!! GAME ON!

Skee Ball!

On Saturday, Nick showed up with his new toy. It seems that his Explorer died and he needed a new truck...check out the new wheels! It's beautiful and cushy.

Sorry Kristy...he couldn't wait until you got home!! :)

So we took it out for a spin and headed out to suburbia. We encountered some rain, but look at the rainbow!! (I was hanging out the moon roof to snap this one!)

After hanging out with some of Nick's friends, we went to Dave and Buster's. I LOVE skee ball, that's where I spent a good chunk of my time. Here's Nick playing Skee Ball...

He didn't do so well. I think he's trying to eat the skee ball.

Fortunately, there were no skee balls harmed in the making of this blog...Good times!!

Algonquin for "The Good Land"

On Friday, Chris and I had a fun little road trip! I got out of school and we hit 94 West to (if you got the "Wayne's World" reference, you already know) Milwaukee! We had tickets to the Cubs/Brewers Game at Miller Park.

On the way up, we took a detour at the Jelly Belly Factory!! Ok, so it's not actually the factory where they make the jellys but, it is the Midwest distribution center for the company. Regardless, you can still get bags of belly flops. They're the sightly imperfect Jelly Bellies that are still are yummy!

Here's me hugging the giant inflatable Jelly Belly in the store.

Now that we've got the sweets, onward!!

We met Barb for coffee, and witnessed a domestic issue... I thought 'Tosa was a safe place...Beware of crack smoking mom's who get punched by their boyfriends near the Starbucks parking lot. (I decided this wouldn't be the best time to be snapping pictures).

After the drama, we went to Saz's for a pregame meal. Here's Chris waiting patiently for his dinner and me to come back from the bathroom. (Thank you, Barb for the lovely pic!)

I didn't get a pic of my dinner (Sorry, Anita!), but I loved my grilled cheese sandwich with tomato and bacon! It was dreamy!

We headed to Miller Park a.k.a. Wrigley Field North. Apparently, it was "Take Miller Park Back" night. Too bad it seemed there were more Cubs fans in attendance than Brewers fans. We even found the Bob Uecker plaque!

(and no, I am NOT the Chicago woman accused of stalking him!)

The game was really good...

And you can see that I'm smiling with good news to report:

CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN!!

Gettin' My Independance On!

Happy Independence Day!

Yesterday, I headed to Andy and Sarah's for their Second Annual 4th of July BBQ. Good food and good fun were had by all!

Here's Chris, with his "flair". I think he's exercising his first amendment rights :)

Adam decides to wear my pink sunglasses. So hot.

Playing football...Andy and Atticus (dog) watch.

Chris and I... I love my lei headband. It was both fun and patriotic!

The food was good. Andy played grill master and cooked burgers and brats. Others brought yummy treats.

Here's some ho-ho's made to look like fire crackers?

My dish came with a warning label.

I made a pina colada desert. It had a bottom layer of coconut pudding, a layer of rum soaked lady fingers (hence the warning), crushed pineapple and a layer of whipped topping. Very yummy.

By the way, the brownies located near the top right corner of my pan were AMAZING! They just melted in your mouth. I later found out that they had Kaluha in the batter. I've got to get that recipie!

Later we busted out the fireworks; snaps and sparklers... (because Illinois bans the good fireworks!)

Adam had fun flicking the snaps at people, the wall, his own fingers...

I tried to get out before the fireworks started and I got stuck in traffic, but I didn't realize the road was closed...Oops! The officer finally let me out, but I think he was being a little silly.

Good times! We'll have to do it again next year!

Happy Birthday, Baby!

Congrats to Kim and Rick!! Their little girl, Ava Francis was born early this morning. 7 lbs, 9 oz and 21 inches long.

Both mom and baby are doing well.

I'm heading over to the hospital to see them soon!

Adventures in Grocery Shopping

There's this new store that opened out by Chris. It's called Woodman's. Chris had been there before and found some yummy buffalo sausage and cheese curds. Prior to this store, the only place I knew of to get cheese curds was the Mars Cheese Castle in Wisconsin.

Any who, I wanted to check this place out myself. I actually wasn't thinking the visit was blog worthy until I discovered this sign--

I was unaware that Corn dogs were a sub category to appetizers!

After this pic, I just snapped away at a few other things that amused me.

This next one was snapped because it grossed me out!

Pickled Turkey Gizzards?!?! EW!! Who eats that?!?! NASTY!!

After I downloaded it to my computer, I noticed the product next to the Pickled Turkey Gizzards...(Check out the bottom left corner of the pic) "Sex Olives"? I didn't even notice them! I'm now thinking I need to pick up a jar of those for a very sexy martini!

Here's the Buffalo bin!!

The search is over!! Yeah yummy Buffalo Salami!!

I also found a great ethnic food isle, as well as a few other random things. This store seems to have everything!! I definitely have more exploring to do!
